Each SFP module features full-duplex LC connectors that support separately purchased multi-mode fiber cables. With an 850nm wavelength, the optical modules can transfer up to 1.25 Gb/s with compatible devices at distances of up to 1804 feet.

There is less latency because fiber light travels quicker than the copper lines that RJ45 uses.
